FIT Level on Tenniscall

In Italy, Tenniscall applies by default the official classification system of the Italian Tennis Federation (FITP). Users registered in Italy are encouraged to evaluate their skills using this scale, to ensure fair and balanced matches.

When playing on Tenniscall, we recommend challenging opponents with a similar skill level. This makes matches more balanced, engaging, and enjoyable for both players. Take a moment to evaluate your skill level and enter it in your profile.

The FIT classification system is used to determine player levels within Italy's competitive tennis framework. If you compete in official tournaments or have competitive experience, you should know which category you fall into. Below is a simplified guide to the main levels.

BEGINNER LEVEL

  • 4.NC – Just started playing tennis.
  • 4.6 – Limited experience; mainly focused on getting the ball into play.
  • 4.5 – Familiar with basic court positioning but still has clear technical weaknesses in fundamentals.
  • 4.4 – Learning to anticipate ball direction but struggles with court coverage. Can sustain short, low-speed rallies with similarly skilled players.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

  • 4.3 – Fairly consistent at medium pace but lacks variety. Struggles with depth and direction control. Commonly uses “one up, one back” formation in doubles.
  • 4.2 – Improved consistency and directional control. Beginning to show net play and better court coverage. Developing teamwork in doubles.
  • 4.1 – Solid on both sides, controls direction and depth at medium speed. Can play approach shots, volleys, and lobs with some success. Serve may be inconsistent, but game vision is improving.

ADVANCED LEVEL

  • 3.5 – Starts to master power and spin. Adapts tactics based on the opponent. First serve is powerful and accurate; second serve is placed. Plays aggressively at the net in doubles.
  • 3.4 – Builds play from the baseline with consistency. Forces errors or finishes with winners. Effectively uses advanced shots like drop shots, volleys, and smashes.
  • 3.3 – Has developed power or consistency as a key weapon. Adjusts strategy and style based on match context. Can hit winners under pressure.
  • 3.2 / 3.1 – Highly experienced player. Masters multiple play styles and executes winners even under stress. Delivers consistent high-level performance.

PROFESSIONAL LEVEL

  • 2.8 to 2.5 – Semi-professional player with a national ranking.
  • 2.4 to 1.1 – Professional player with extensive experience in ITF, Challenger, and/or ATP tournaments.
