FTV ranking in Venezuela

In Venezuela, Tenniscall uses by default the FVT (Federación Venezolana de Tenis) ranking system to assess player skill levels. This system is widely recognized across Venezuelan clubs, tournaments, and tennis schools, making it the most familiar and practical standard for local play.

If you are based in Venezuela, we recommend using this system to evaluate your level and update your profile accordingly. This ensures fairer matchups and a more balanced playing experience for all.

The FVT ranking system includes 13 structured levels, divided into Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Semi-Pro, and Pro categories. It evaluates players based on technical skills, tactical knowledge, physical conditioning, and competitive experience.

BEGINNER LEVEL

  • Level 6.0 – Just starting to play tennis. No formal training or match experience. Learning basic strokes and court rules.
  • Level 5.5 – Limited experience. Still focused on simply getting the ball into play. Basic technique still developing.
  • Level 5.0 – Needs more court time. Has clear stroke weaknesses but understands court positioning in singles and doubles.
  • Level 4.5 – Beginning to anticipate ball direction. Weak movement and court coverage. Can sustain short, low-paced rallies with similar-level players.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

  • Level 4.0 – Fair consistency with medium-paced shots. Still uncomfortable with certain strokes. Lacks control over direction, depth, and power. Uses basic doubles formations (e.g., one-up, one-back).
  • Level 3.5 – Improved stroke reliability and directional control on moderate shots. Beginning to add variety and be more aggressive at the net. Better teamwork in doubles.
  • Level 3.0 – Has reliable strokes on both sides, including lobs, volleys, and approach shots. Some errors on serve. Can control rallies but sometimes loses points due to impatience.

ADVANCED LEVEL

  • Level 2.5 – Starting to master spin and power. Good footwork and control over shot depth. Adjusts game plan to opponent. Can serve with power and accuracy. Plays aggressively at the net.
  • Level 2.0 – Excellent anticipation. Has a standout shot or consistent playing style. Hits winners and forces errors. Uses volleys, drop shots, lobs, and smashes effectively. Second serve has good depth and spin.
  • Level 1.5 – Power and/or consistency is a main strength. Can adapt strategies in match play and remain reliable under pressure. Complete tactical and physical control at high amateur level.

SEMI-PRO LEVEL

  • Level 1.0 – Semi-professional player. Has achieved sectional and/or national ranking. Competes frequently and has strong tournament experience.

PRO LEVEL

  • Level PRO 2 – Professional player with extensive experience in satellite tournaments and regional circuits. High-level performance and tactical knowledge.
  • Level PRO 1 – Full-time professional player. Competes for a living and earns income through tournament prize money. Elite skillset and physical conditioning.

Tenniscall applies the FVT system automatically to users located in Venezuela. This helps players compete in an environment aligned with national standards and ensures better matchmaking within the local tennis scene.
